OHM RemediationServices Corp. WORK PLANl Erosion <strong>and</strong> Sedimentation Control - OHM will establish controls to preventerosion <strong>and</strong> sedimentation through the use of sediment fencing. Section 4.1 of thisWP details the erosion <strong>and</strong> sedimentation control measures required by the State ofNorth Carolina.l Install Safety Fencing - OHM personnel will erect safety fencing aroundexcavations A, B, <strong>and</strong> C. Fencing will be 4 feet high, bright orange, polyethylene,mesh fence to prevent personnel from accidentally entering the open excavations.l Decontamination Areas - Personnel <strong>and</strong> equipment decontamination areas will beprovided within the Contamination Reduction Zones (CRZ) upon exiting thecontaminated <strong>work</strong>ing areas. The Site-Specific Health <strong>and</strong> Safety Plan addresses theseareas in detail.l Stockpile Area Preparation - The designated stockpile area will be cleared ofdebris <strong>and</strong> plastic sheeting will be spread on the asphalt pavement to temporarily store<strong>and</strong> separate the <strong>soil</strong> being excavated.lHealth <strong>and</strong> Safety Zones - The <strong>site</strong> will be segregated into <strong>work</strong> areas on the basisof degree of hazard <strong>and</strong> PPE requirements. Personnel <strong>work</strong>ing within thecontamination reduction zone (CRZ) will be required to wear the appropriate PPE asoutlined in the Site-Specific Health <strong>and</strong> Safety Plan. Excavation areas within the CRZwill be delineated by orange safety fencing. OHM health <strong>and</strong> safety personnel willprovide <strong>site</strong> air monitoring as specified in the SHSP <strong>and</strong> will adjust <strong>work</strong> zoneboundaries as appropriate.l Waste Characterization <strong>and</strong> Disposal Authorization - OHM will collectsamples from each of the three areas <strong>for</strong> disposal characterization. A disposal/treatmentfacility (or facilities) will then be identified <strong>for</strong> the acceptance of the contaminated <strong>soil</strong>which will be removed. All disposal documentation necessary will be prepared <strong>and</strong>will be provided to the NTR <strong>for</strong> approval <strong>and</strong> authorization as described in Section 6.4.l Common Fill Identification - A borrow area will be identified <strong>for</strong> the supply ofcommon fill <strong>for</strong> <strong>site</strong> restoration. Geotechnical samples will be collected <strong>and</strong> <strong>for</strong>wardedto the respective laboratories.l Monitor Well Ab<strong>and</strong>onment - Monitor wells within the <strong>remediation</strong> area that areto be removed will be identified.
