6.0 DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURESThis section describes the procedures necessary to ensure that both personnel <strong>and</strong> equipmentare free from contamination when they leave the <strong>work</strong> <strong>site</strong>.6.1 PERSONNEL DECONTAMINATIONDecontamination procedures will ensure that material which <strong>work</strong>ers may have contacted in theEZ does not result in personal exposure <strong>and</strong> is not spread to clean areas of the <strong>site</strong>. Thissequence describes the general decontamination procedure. Following a thorough drenching, the <strong>work</strong>er will proceed to thedecontamination facility. Here the <strong>work</strong>er will remove clothing, shower, don clean clothing,<strong>and</strong> immediately be taken to the first-aid station. Medical attention will be provided asdetermined by the degree of injury.6.1.2 Personal HygieneBe<strong>for</strong>e any eating, smoking, or drinking, personnel will wash h<strong>and</strong>s, arms, neck <strong>and</strong> face. Apersonnel decontamination facility will be provided <strong>for</strong> <strong>site</strong> operations consisting of showers,change rooms, <strong>and</strong> separate lockers <strong>for</strong> street clothes <strong>and</strong> <strong>work</strong> clothes. Site personnel arerequired to shower daily at the completion of that day’s <strong>work</strong>.
