How to read <strong>and</strong> interpret labels <strong>and</strong> MSDSs <strong>for</strong> hazardous substances found onOHM <strong>site</strong>s. Emergency spill procedures. Proper storage <strong>and</strong> labelingBe<strong>for</strong>e any new hazardous chemical is introduced on <strong>site</strong>, each OHM <strong>and</strong> related subcontractoremployee will be given in<strong>for</strong>mation in the same manner as during the safety class. The <strong>site</strong>supervisor will be responsible <strong>for</strong> seeing that the MSDS on the new chemical is available <strong>for</strong>review by on <strong>site</strong> personnel. The in<strong>for</strong>mation pertinent to the chemical hazards will becommunicated to project personnel.Morning safety meetings will be held <strong>and</strong> the hazardous materials used on <strong>site</strong> will bediscussed. Attendance is m<strong>and</strong>atory <strong>for</strong> all on <strong>site</strong> employees. Refer to Appendix C of the <strong>site</strong>safety <strong>plan</strong> to find a list of hazardous chemicals anticipated to be brought to the <strong>site</strong> <strong>and</strong> thecorresponding MSDSs <strong>for</strong> these chemicals.3.3.5 NoiseHearing protection is required <strong>for</strong> <strong>work</strong>ers operating or <strong>work</strong>ing near heavy equipment, wherethe noise level is greater than 85 dbA (Time Weighted Average) as well as personnel <strong>work</strong>ingaround heavy equipment.
