5.0 SITE CONTROL PLANSOHM will implement site control plans to prevent negatively impacting the surroundingenvironment while performing remediation activities. Three specific plans that are discussed inthe following section are the following:lllErosion and Sedimentation PlanSpill Prevention and Control PlanS tormwater Management PlanPortions of these plans will be implemented immediately once OHM mobilizes to the site, while other activities will be implemented as necessary. The following sections describe theactivities for each of these plans.5.1 EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PLANThe Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan (ESCP) has been prepared to provide measuresto protect nearby surface waters that could be negatively impacted by construction activities ifproper sediment and erosion protection measures are not taken within this area having easilyerodible sandy surface soils. To protect against damage, storm water surface run-off leavingthe site will be controlled by temporary erosion/sediment control techniques such as berms, siltfencing and grading as shown in Figures 4 and 5. Open excavations or stockpiled soilvulnerable to creating erosion problems during construction activities will be held to aminimum.Silt fencing will be constructed around all high activity construction areas or excavation areaswhere off-site migration of soil may occur. Locations that will be protected downgradientinclude monitoring well locations, the two drainage ditches and B&son Creek.Mulch will be placed over and around natural and wooded areas that are disturbed duringexcavation activities. Areas which are not expected to be reclaimed by natural vegetation willbe seeded and mulched, sodded, and/or covered with seeded, biodegradable erosion controlmatting.Upon completion of backfilling and compaction activities, permanent seeding will beperformed over the affected areas, and any other areas where natural revegetation will notoccur or will not occur quickly.5.1.1 Construction Specifications1..
