Department of Justice <strong>and</strong> Community Safety(Justice <strong>Directorate</strong> – Attorney-General)OverviewThe Department of Justice <strong>and</strong> Community Safety <strong>and</strong> its associated agencies provideservices in <strong>the</strong> areas of justice, emergency preparedness <strong>and</strong> response, regulation of consumer<strong>and</strong> business activities, <strong>and</strong> protection of rights. The Department also provides services across<strong>the</strong> ACT government including legal advice <strong>and</strong> representation.Work has been completed recently on governance arrangements for emergency management<strong>and</strong> associated legislative amendments to <strong>the</strong> Emergencies Act 2004 198 commenced inAugust 2010.
