97Chapter 4 - Critical Links: Proposals for ImplementationLobbyingA member of the Formulary Committee shall not, with respect to any matterrelated to this Act,(a) act as a consultant lobbyist within the meaning of subsection 4 (10)of the Lobbyist Registration Act, 1998; or(b) act as an in-house lobbyist within the meaning of subsection 5 (7)or 6 (5) of the Lobbyist Registration Act, 1998.Remuneration <strong>and</strong> expensesThe members of the Formulary Committee shall be paid the remuneration<strong>and</strong> expenses the Lieutenant Governor in Council determines.Functions of the Formulary CommitteeThe Formulary Committee shall:(a) compile <strong>and</strong> recommend to the Agency a Drug List for each healthprofession, other than medicine <strong>and</strong> dentistry, that the Committee issatisfied the health profession may be competent to administer byinjection or inhalation, prescribe, compound, dispense or sell if theAgency confirms their qualifications <strong>and</strong> they fall within a class ofdrugs authorized to the health profession under the regulationsmade under their health profession Act;(b) provide expert advice to the Agency on the terms, limitations <strong>and</strong>conditions that should be imposed on the Drug List authorized foreach health profession; <strong>and</strong>(c) provide expert advice to the Agency as requested by the Agency.MeetingsThe Formulary Committee shall meet at least once a year <strong>and</strong> as requestedby the Agency.IdemThe Formulary Committee shall conduct its proceedings in the manner itconsiders appropriate.Other AdvisorsThe Formulary Committee may, from time to time, seek the advice of otherregulated health professionals when the Formulary Committee deems suchadvice is required.HPRAC Critical Links January 2009
