182Chapter 7 – Professions of Chiropody and PodiatryIndividual scope of practice for podiatrists5.3 A member is responsible for identifying the limits of his orher educational preparation and competencies, and forresolving situations beyond his or her expertise byconsulting with or referring patients to other healthprofessionals.4. That section 13 of the Chiropody Act, 1991 be repealed and thefollowing substituted:Regulations13. Subject to the approval of the Lieutenant Governor inCouncil and with prior review by the Minister, the Councilmay make regulations regulating the prescribing, dispensingand sale of drugs by members, requiring members to keepprescribed records and to provide to the Minister reportscontaining prescribed information respecting theprescribing, dispensing and sale of drugs.5. That sections 1 through 4 of Ontario Regulation 203/94 under theChiropody Act, 1991 (General) be repealed and replaced by thefollowing:PART ICONTROLLED ACTS AND STANDARDS OF PRACTICE1.(1)The College shall develop, establish and maintain standardsof practice for those procedures performed under theauthority of paragraph 2 and 3 of subsection 5(1) andparagraph 3 and 4 of subsection 5(2) of the Act.(2) The standards of practice referred to in subsection (1) shallbe developed on the recommendation of the ChiropodyStandards Committee.(3) The College shall establish the Chiropody StandardsCommittee referred to in subsection (2) and shall appointthe membership of the Chiropody Standards Committee,which shall include, at a minimum, one or more:(a) members of the Council;(b) members of the College (including practitionersand educators);(c) persons who are not and have not been membersof the College or of the Council;(d) members of the College of Physicians andHPRAC Critical Links January 2009
