182Chapter 7 – <strong>Professions</strong> of Chiropody <strong>and</strong> PodiatryIndividual scope of practice for podiatrists5.3 A member is responsible for identifying the limits of his orher educational preparation <strong>and</strong> competencies, <strong>and</strong> forresolving situations beyond his or her expertise byconsulting with or referring patients to other healthprofessionals.4. That section 13 of the Chiropody Act, 1991 be repealed <strong>and</strong> thefollowing substituted:Regulations13. Subject to the approval of the Lieutenant Governor inCouncil <strong>and</strong> with prior review by the Minister, the Councilmay make regulations regulating the prescribing, dispensing<strong>and</strong> sale of drugs by members, requiring members to keepprescribed records <strong>and</strong> to provide to the Minister reportscontaining prescribed information respecting theprescribing, dispensing <strong>and</strong> sale of drugs.5. That sections 1 through 4 of Ontario Regulation 203/94 under theChiropody Act, 1991 (General) be repealed <strong>and</strong> replaced by thefollowing:PART ICONTROLLED ACTS AND STANDARDS OF PRACTICE1.(1)The College shall develop, establish <strong>and</strong> maintain st<strong>and</strong>ardsof practice for those procedures performed under theauthority of paragraph 2 <strong>and</strong> 3 of subsection 5(1) <strong>and</strong>paragraph 3 <strong>and</strong> 4 of subsection 5(2) of the Act.(2) The st<strong>and</strong>ards of practice referred to in subsection (1) shallbe developed on the recommendation of the ChiropodySt<strong>and</strong>ards Committee.(3) The College shall establish the Chiropody St<strong>and</strong>ardsCommittee referred to in subsection (2) <strong>and</strong> shall appointthe membership of the Chiropody St<strong>and</strong>ards Committee,which shall include, at a minimum, one or more:(a) members of the Council;(b) members of the College (including practitioners<strong>and</strong> educators);(c) persons who are not <strong>and</strong> have not been membersof the College or of the Council;(d) members of the College of Physicians <strong>and</strong>HPRAC Critical Links January 2009
