211Chapter 8 – Profession of Dental Hygiene(c) A member may only prescribe, dispense, sell, compound or usethose drugs within the classes designated in subsection 39(b)that are listed in the Drug List and must prescribe, dispense,sell, compound or use those listed drugs in accordance with theterms, limitations and conditions contained in the Drug List.40. (1) It is a term, condition and limitation of a certificate ofregistration of any class that the member who performs aprocedure under the authority of paragraph 3 of section 4 of theAct must: (a) provide satisfactory evidence of successfulcompletion of a program that meets approved criteria; and (b)ensure the procedure performed does not exceed the level oftraining completed.(2) It is a term, condition and limitation of a certificate ofregistration of any class that the member who performs aprocedure under the authority of paragraph 3 of section 4 of theAct must ensure the procedure is performed in accordance withany standards of practice established and published by theCollege from time to time.41. The College shall develop, establish and maintain standards ofpractice for those procedures performed under the authority ofparagraph 3 of section 4 of the Act.42. The standards of practice referred to in section 41 shall bedeveloped on the recommendation of the Dental Hygiene StandardsCommittee.43. For the purposes of section 42, the College shall establish theDental Hygiene Standards Committee referred to in section 42 andshall appoint the membership of the Dental Hygiene StandardsCommittee, which shall include, at a minimum, one or more:a) members of the Council;b) members of the College (including practitioners andeducators);c) persons who are not and have not been members of theCollege or of the Council;d) members of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario,approved by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario;ande) members of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, approved bythe Ontario College of Pharmacists.HPRAC Critical Links January 2009
