Intent To provide a safe and secure environment for building occupants and visitors.

Requirements GENERAL
Demonstrate appropriate safety & security risk mitigation for the development, through one
of the following two approaches:

� Implementation of risk mitigation measures agreed in consultation with the UPC Safety
& Security Team as part of the UPC Development Review Process; or
� Where consultation with the UPC Safety & Security Team is not mandated as part of the
UPC Development Review Process, develop the following documents to demonstrate
that safety & security have been incorporated into the development’s planning and
design stages:
o Safety & Security Risk Assessment;
o Safety & Security Strategy; and
o Safety & Security Layout Plan.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT/CLARIFICATIONS
Schools
� In addition to achieving the general requirements above, an additional credit point is
available for development and implementation of a safety & security plan that
addresses transit of pupils from pick-up locations to school grounds.
