Demonstrate that the total material cost of reused and salvaged materials represents<br />

3% of the total material cost.<br />

The following materials are not eligible for this credit:<br />

� Materials addressed in all other credits under Stewarding Materials section<br />

except SM 9- Regional Materials;<br />

� Materials constituting the reused portion of the building's structural system as<br />

per SM-7 <strong>Building</strong> Reuse compliance criteria; and<br />

� <strong>Building</strong> components whose performance can influence the energy or water use<br />

are only eligible if an equivalent level of performance can be demonstrated in<br />

comparison to new components available in the current market.<br />

The cost of specified reused materials equal to at least 3% of the<br />

Total Material Cost.<br />

Construction <strong>Rating</strong><br />

The cost of installed reused materials equal to 3% of the Total<br />

Material Cost.<br />

� Summary sheet listing all proposed reused materials meeting the Credit<br />

Requirements, their cost, the source or location of previous use, and intended new<br />

use;<br />

� Calculations demonstrating that the total cost of the proposed reused materials<br />

meet the Credit Requirements; and<br />

� Extracts from specifications requiring the use of the proposed materials.<br />

� Updated summary sheet listing all proposed reused materials meeting the Credit<br />

Requirements, their cost, the source or location of previous use, and new use; and<br />

� Updated calculations demonstrating that the total cost of the proposed reused<br />

materials meet the Credit Requirements.<br />

Total Material Cost: exclude labor and equipment costs and include the following<br />

divisions from the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) MasterFormat TM or<br />

equivalent: Division 03 Concrete, Division 04 Masonry, Division 05 Metals, Division 06<br />

Wood, Plastics, and Composites, Division 07 Thermal and Moisture Protection, Division<br />

08 Openings, Division 09 Finishes, Division 10 Specialties, Division 31 Earthwork,<br />

Division 32 Exterior Improvements. Division 12 may be included; however, associated<br />

costs must be carried throughout all Stewarding Materials credits.<br />
