In c<strong>on</strong>necti<strong>on</strong> with a search of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> literature for analytical data <str<strong>on</strong>g>from</str<strong>on</strong>g> foreign<br />
m<strong>on</strong>itoring programmes for pesticides in groundwater, a search was made<br />
for 544 pesticides <strong>and</strong> metabolites that have been or still are used in<br />
Denmark. Of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>se substances, data were ga<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>red <strong>on</strong> 281 that have been<br />
analysed abroad, 159 of which have been found mainly in groundwater.<br />
About 55 of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>se were used in Denmark in 1996. However, for many of<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>se substances, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>re have been <strong>on</strong>ly a few finds in groundwater.
