[29] Juramento <strong>para</strong> Científicos Naturales (1970)<br />
Being admitted to the practice of the natural sciences I pledge to put my knowledge complet<strong>el</strong>y<br />
at the service of mankind. I shall prosecute my profession conscientiously and with dignity. I<br />
shall never col<strong>la</strong>borate in research aimed at the unjustified extermination of living organisms<br />
or the disturbance of the biological equilibrium which is harmful to mankind, neither shall I<br />
support such research in any way.<br />
Guide of my scientific work will be the promotion of the common w<strong>el</strong>fare of mankind and in<br />
this context I shall not kill organisms nor shall I allow the killing of organisms for inferior, shortsighted,<br />
opportunistic reason.<br />
I accept responsibility for unforeseen, harmful results directly originating from my work; I shall<br />
undo these results as far as lies in my power.<br />
This I vow voluntarily and on my word of honour.<br />
[30] Enmienda de <strong>la</strong> Sociedad Americana de Física (1971)<br />
Article II: The object of the Society shall be the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge<br />
of physics in order to increase man’s understanding of nature and to contribute to the enhancement<br />
of the quality of life for all people. The Society shall assist its members in the pursuit of<br />
these humane goals and it shall shun those activities which are judged to contribute harmfully<br />
to the w<strong>el</strong>fare of mankind.<br />
[31] Cláusu<strong>la</strong> Contractual de Responsabilidad Social y Medio Ambiente (1971)<br />
Durante <strong>la</strong> conferencia anual de <strong>la</strong> International Society for Social Responsibility, realizada en<br />
Trondheim, Noruega, en agosto de 1971, se propuso <strong>la</strong> redacción de un proyecto de resolución <strong>para</strong><br />
ser presentado durante <strong>la</strong> Conferencia de <strong>la</strong>s Naciones Unidas d<strong>el</strong> Medio Ambiente (Estocolmo,<br />
1972). El punto 2 establecía lo siguiente:<br />
That all scientists and engineers be offered a pledge to sign which expresses the fundamental<br />
responsibility of the professional man for all future consequences of his work, direct or indirect.<br />
…When they sign a contract a contract of employment it should contain a c<strong>la</strong>use with the following<br />
sense:<br />
“To honor my pledge to abide by the code of ethics of the scientific community, mu acceptance<br />
of this contract is based in the understanding that I be given freedom to disclose the results of<br />
my works where this becomes necessary to comply with the spirit of my pledge.”<br />

...I will not use my scientific training for any purpose which I b<strong>el</strong>ieve is intended to harm human<br />
beings. I shall strive for peace, justice, freedom and the betterment of the human conditions...<br />
[33] P. Sonntag (1973) hace un interesante p<strong>la</strong>nteo desde <strong>la</strong>s ciencias exactas y técnicas sugiriendo<br />
<strong>la</strong> aplicación de un análogo al Juramento Hipocrático <strong>para</strong> Científicos y Técnicos <strong>para</strong> reducir los<br />
riesgos sociales de <strong>la</strong> actividad de investigación y <strong>desarrollo</strong>.<br />

I solemnly pledge mys<strong>el</strong>f to consecrate my life to the service of humanity. I will give to my<br />
