Auspichiamo che diventi ancheun centro di riflessione e di elaborazioneper la proposta formativa propriamentefrancescana.Molto buono anche il contributo delFranciscan International Study Center diCanterbury (Regno Unito), che organizzatre trimestri per formatori di lingua inglese.Nello stesso senso continua la qualificazionee l’adeguamento alle nuove normativeeuropee della P.U.A., impegnata in unesigente processo di autovalutazione e direvisione.La ricerca e la preparazione di nuoviprofessori e ricercatori continua ad occupareanche il nostro Segretariato, insieme allavicinanza al cammino della P.U.A., dellaFacoltà Biblica di Gerusalemme, dellaCommissione Scotista e del Collegio S. Bonaventuradei Frati Editori di Quaracchi, insigniistituzioni culturali dell’Ordine chechiedono nuovo personale ben preparato.Il lavoro ordinario di Curia e l’amministrazionedel Fondo Formazione e Studi sonol’altra parte, più nascosta ma non perquesto meno preziosa, del nostro servizioall’Ordine, per la quale in particolare devoesprimere particolare riconoscenza a Fr.Alojzy Warot, Vice Segretario generale, eda qualche mese a Fr. Dragan Nimac che ciaiuta come assistente di Segreteria.Al termine, esprimiamo la nostra gratitudineal Signore per il tempo di bene che cista donando nel servizio ai Fratelli sparsinel mondo e ai Fratelli stessi per l’accoglienzabenevola e anche per la pazienza dinanzialle nostre insufficienze. ChronicleThe XI International Council for Formationand Studies began in Nairobi on the 6thFebruary with the opening Eucharist celebratedby Br. Sebastian Unsner, MinisterProvincial of the Province of “St. Francis”in Africa, Madagascar and Mauritius.Present were the 12 delegates of theConferences, who arrived during the precedingdays and were received by the Friarsof the Province, the Friars of the GeneralSecretariat for Formation and Studies, Br.Nestor I. Schwerz, Secretary General forEvangelisation, as a guest, the two translators,some Friars of the host Province andBr. Gianfrancesco Sisto of the sameProvince, who was responsible for the organisation.During his homily, Br. Sebastianinvited all to enter into the evangelicalspirit of authenticity and of truth in ourspeaking and acting so as to have a fruitfulmission in the present-day world.Following the Eucharist, the Council beganits work with the reading of the messageof the Minister General and the greeting ofwelcome by the Minister Provincial. Br.Massimo Fusarelli then passed on to presentthe story of the preparation, the objectives,the means and the methodology of the Council.A presentation by a Kenyan Spiritanpriest in the afternoon helped the members ofthe Council to situate themselves within theecclesiastical and social situation of presentdayKenya and Africa, thanks also to a livelyexchange and dialogue. Br. Alojzy Warot,Vice-Secretary General for Formation andStudies, then presented the data on the stateof Ongoing Formation in the Order, whichhad been gathered from the replies to thequestionnaire sent out to all the Entities. Itwas a reading of lights and shadows, fromwhich, however, the work being carried outby us in this area and the new things that arehappening emerged (cf. Instrumentum Laboris).There was the demanding presentation ofBr. Juan M. Ilarduia on Wednesday the 7th.The work in groups gave a start to ourlabours, directed towards producing a draftof the Instrumentum Laboris for the II Inter-
