The QEMSCAN results supports split type of flowsheet in which primary roughing is to focus on recovery<br />

of the reasonably liberated material, ~85% Cu and ~70% Ni. This does not require a high collector<br />

addition or high pyrrhotite recovery. This will need a short re-grind and three aggressive cleaners to reject<br />

gangue and have high recovery of sulphides. Cleaner collector will have to be added part way through the<br />

cleaner stages to keep the pentlandite and associated pyrrhotite floating. The concentrate from this circuit<br />

will/may go to Cu-Ni separation to produce a saleable copper concentrate. The copper separation tail<br />

would be Ni concentrate.<br />

There will be a scavenger circuit where the collector dosage would be high to get a good recovery of the<br />

remaining valuable, Ni, PGE and some Cu. There would be more notable re-grind here to get some<br />

liberation and finally, likely three stages of cleaning to reject gangue and pyrrhotite.<br />

The other choice is a finer primary grind, but the ore is hard and the tonnage is high, so there would be no<br />

economical justification for this.<br />

LCT-1 Products<br />

Six products from LCT-1, namely; copper cleaner 1 concentrate, copper rougher tail, bulk cleaner 1 tail,<br />

Ni cleaner 3 concentrate, Ni cleaner 1 tail and Ni scavenger tail products were submitted for QEMSCAN<br />
