5 Description of the Functions<br />

5.5 SIMODRIVE POSMO A functions<br />

If an axis is located at a hardware limit switch, then it can be moved<br />

away again as follows:<br />

1. Acknowledge the fault<br />

2. Return the axis to the valid traversing range<br />

In the jog mode or via velocity, move away in a direction opposite to<br />

the approach direction<br />

or<br />

1. Withdraw the controller enable (control signal ON/OFF1)<br />

2. Set the input terminal (function number 28/29) to 0<br />

Note<br />

If the hardware limit switch was passed, then it is only possible to<br />

continue to traverse in the original direction, if after acknowledging the<br />

fault, the axis is traversed in the opposite direction and again passes<br />

over the hardware limit switch.<br />

The software limit switch start (P6) and software limit switch end (P7)<br />

can be correspondingly set to limit the operating range or to protect the<br />

machine.<br />

Notice<br />

The software limit switches only become active if the following<br />

conditions exist:<br />

P6 < P7<br />

pos mode: the axis is referenced (”reference point set” output<br />

signal)<br />

Only then is it certain that the axis will be immediately stopped if it<br />

attempts to move out of the permissible range.<br />

Note<br />

The SW limit switch monitoring is dependent on the axis type as<br />

follows:<br />

For a linear axis or rotary axis with modulo correction, the following is<br />

valid:<br />

––> the software limit switches can be activated via P6
