13.13 A total number of 317 appointments of Chairman-cum-Managing Directors (CMDs),<br />

MDs, Executive Directors, Functional Directors, Non-Official Directors were made<br />

on the Board of Public Sector Undertakings and Banks/ Financial Institutions during<br />

the period from 1 st January 2008 to 31 st December 2008. During the same period<br />

150 appointments were made at the level of General Managers / Additional General<br />

Managers/ Members/Additional Members/Chairman/ Vice-Chairman/Chief<br />

Secretary Commissioners. In addition promotion/empanelment for appointments<br />

to the Higher Administrative Grade in Rs. 22400 – 24500/Rs.24050-26000 to various<br />

Group ‘A’ Services under the Ministry of Railways was done during the same<br />

period 3 appointments were made at the level of Chairman and Member in the<br />

Autonomous Bodies. 129 Secretary level and equivalent, 94 Additional Secretary<br />

level and equivalent, 380 Joint Secretary level and equivalent, 566 Director level<br />

and equivalent and 147 Deputy Secretary level and equivalent officers stand posted<br />

under the Central Staffing Scheme as on 31 st December, 2008. A total 1142 officers<br />

were approved for appointment (including promotion and deputation) to posts, of<br />

and above the level of Joint Secretary, in various organized Central Services which<br />

are not included in the Central Staffing Scheme, and postings in various Indian<br />

Embassies/Missions abroad.<br />

SPECIAL PROVISIONS<br />

13.14 The following special provision were made:-<br />

As per the guidelines of allocation, women employees are to be allotted to<br />

a successor State as per their option only (whereas the men are allotted on<br />

the basis of option, domicile and junior in their cadre).<br />

To mitigate the difficulties, guidelines have been issued to allot wife and<br />

husband to anyone of the successor State as per their option.<br />

OTHER PROVISION<br />

13.15 The other provision are:-<br />

Issuing of guidelines to allot the physically handicapped employees as per<br />

their option only<br />
