E-OFFICE PROJECT PROFILE<br />

16.2 The strategic intent of e-Office is to transition to a less paper office within the next<br />

five years. Five sites viz. Ministry of Rural Development, Department of Information<br />

Technology, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances,<br />

Department of Personnel and Training and office of Central Information Commission<br />

have been identified for carrying out the pilot study and implementation for the e-<br />

Office project. After successful implementation of e-Office in the pilot Departments,<br />

the same would be extended in other ministries/department. National Institute for<br />

Smart Government (NISG), Hyderabad has been selected to provide technical<br />

support and expertise to this Department to conceptualise this project as well as to<br />

assist the Department in implementing the pilot at the five sites.<br />

Membership of the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and<br />

Management (CAPAM)<br />

17. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of<br />

Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances) is an institutional member of<br />

Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM)<br />

since 1997. CAPAM is a membership organisation dedicated to strengthening public<br />

management and consolidating democracy and good governance through out the<br />

Commonwealth. Its mission is to promote the practical requirements of good<br />

governance, just and honest government across the Commonwealth countries and<br />

beyond. CAPAM provides a forum for the active exchange of innovations, knowledge<br />

and practice in citizen-centered service delivery, leadership development, growth,<br />

public service management and renewal. CAPAM serves its members as a centre<br />

of excellence in good governance and endeavour to build a more responsive and<br />

dynamic public service. As a non-profit association, CAPAM represents an<br />

international network of 1100 senior public servants, Heads of Government, leading<br />

academics and researchers located in over 50 different countries across the<br />

Commonwealth.<br />
