PUBLICATION CELL<br />
17.18 The main functions of the publication cell are creation, collection and dissemination<br />
of appropriate training software and to publish Academy’s prestigious biannual<br />
Journal “The Administrator”. It also develops background teaching materials in<br />
various areas of public administration, economics, law, management, computers<br />
etc. There is an Editorial Board and a Core Group to monitor its activities, which<br />
are headed by the Director of the Academy. The work relating to development of<br />
training software and to publish “The Administrator” are the two core functions of<br />
the Cell.<br />
CASE STUDIES<br />
17.19 Among the training methodologies currently in use, perhaps the most effective for<br />
mid-career professionals is the methodology of case studies. Further, the feedback<br />
received from participants and programme coordinators of in-service courses<br />
suggests that this is the most preferred training and learning methodology.<br />

17.20 The Publication Cell has helped in developing the following:-<br />

Academy biannual Journal ‘The Administrator’<br />
17.20.1The Administrator is to serve as a platform for research and documentation in the<br />
areas of public administration, public management and public policy for practitioners<br />
and students of these fields. The first issue of Vol. 50 of the journal is available and<br />
the second issue is under process.<br />
NATIONAL CENTRE FOR GENDER TRAINING, PLANNING AND RESE<strong>AR</strong>CH<br />
(NCGTPR)<br />
17.21 The National Centre for Gender Training, Planning and Research was established<br />
in 1998. This year NCGTPR conducted following courses:-<br />

• Conference to Develop a Training Strategy on Gender Based Violence - a<br />
two day workshop from 7 - 8 April, 2008.<br />
• Validation conference on GBV on 14 July, 2008.<br />
• Workshop on Integrated District Approach a 3 day workshop from 28 - 30<br />
July, 2008.
