Section 23 NSLDS Processing Changes - Functional Changed Processes and Reports Exceeds Limit Flags Overrides To override this new checkbox on Exceeds Limits data, you may create a manual RNASLxx record or place an override on RNARSLT, or on the Award Forms (ROARMAN, RPAAWRD, RPAAPMT). The award forms allow you to place termspecific overrides for Limit Tests. If the NSLDS Override field (RORSTAT_NSLDS_OVRD_IND) on RNARSLT is set to L (Limit tests) or A (All tests) or if the Override Indicator option (RPRATRM_NSLDS_OVRD_IND) on the Award Forms is set to L (Limit tests) or A (All tests), funds will be disbursed even if either Exceeds Limit value is Y or E. Note: See Problem Resolution #86106. Consolidated amounts were being counted in a calculation of Unsubsidized amounts and should not have been. This problem has been resolved for 2003 - 2004 and 2004 - 2005. Reminder: Override Functionality RNARSLT (RORSTAT_NSLDS_OVRD_IND) overrides are looked at for both awarding and disbursement. If an override exists for a specific issue L (Limits), D (Defaults), or O (Overpayments) or the A (All) tests, then awarding will allow the loan fund to be packaged and disbursement will allow payment. The term-specific overrides on the Award forms (RPRATRM_NSLDS_OVRD_IND) are looked at only by disbursement. So if a fund has been packaged and new information comes in that would prevent disbursement, but prevents disbursement for selective terms, then you may utilize the override on the Award Forms in the Term Block (RPRATRM_NSLDS_OVRD_IND) instead of RNARSLT. Section 24 EDE Data Load/Correction Processing - Functional SCT Banner Modifications Section 24 EDE Data Load/Correction Processing - Functional The Electronic Data Exchange (EDE) release is used by Banner clients to receive federally processed information for the purposes of awarding and disbursing monies in accordance with federal regulations. The data received from this process is required for Federal Need Analysis and will help determine a student's eligibility for these funds. Data provided by the Department of Education changes annually in content and format. This section identifies updates made to Banner to implement these changes. These are based on the 2004 - 2005 Final EDE Technical Reference record layouts. Banner modifications for the 2004 - 2005 aid year includes changes to the data load of the Institution Student Information Record (ISIR) and National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) information because of new fields and changes in field positions. Also, revisions were made to the creation, extract, and data load for Correction processing because of the addition of new fields and changes to the format. Note: Starting with 2004 - 2005, Duplicate Request processing no longer may be done through batch transactions -- this functionality is no longer available in Banner for 2004 - 2005 and beyond. Instead, Duplicate ISIRs are now requested using the FSA ISIR Datamart. You may download a copy of the 2004 - 2005 Electronic Data Exchange Technical Reference from the FSA download Web site. SCT Banner Modifications New 2004 - 2005 EDE-Related Processes For 2004 - 2005, the ISIR record format has changed due to the FAFSA questions being rearranged. Additionally, changes were made to descriptions, replacing INS with DHS (Department of Homeland Security). New fields have been added pertaining to the new Social Security match for parents, parents’ email and more detail regarding the ISIR transaction and new flags for loan balances. 2004 - 2005 Financial Aid EDE Data Load Part 1 Process (RCBTP05) was created to reflect these changes.
