Section 29 Logging Support - Functional
Overview
deletions to that table. No additional code was added to any application
software.
• New tables and a supporting form to control which tables are included in
logging and which columns within the table are to be logged.
• The ability to enable/disable logging at the table level.
• The ability to log inserts, updates, and/or deletes at the table level.
• The ability to identify the specific row in the table for which logging took place.
For example, when an award status is changed, the fund as well as the pidm and
aid year will be associated with the changed award status.
• No need to associate secondary data with the data being logged. All logging is
now done on a database table row basis.
• The ability to log data regardless of the method used to maintain the data.
Logging will take place whether the process was a Banner form, a Banner batch
process, a client process, SQL/PLUS, Web application, and so on.
