Financial Aid Award Record Data Elements
This element uniquely identifies a student. For students with an officially assigned
Social Security Number, report the nine-digit Social Security Number in this data
element, or the unique local identifier.
SCT Banner will populate the flat file with RCRAPP1_SSN first if one exists, then
check for SPBPERS_SSN and finally if no SPBERS pull from SPRIDEN_ID.
SF21 STUDENT-AID-AWARD-TYPE
Format: X(02)
Position: 021 - 022
This element indicates the type of financial aid award received and with SF22 and
makes up the Award Sub-record.
Data Element Dictionary Lists Codes for:
• Board Financial Assistance program (BOGW - Board of Governors Enrollment
Fee Waivers)
• Grants
• Loans
• Scholarships
• Work Study
SCT Banner will report data for all terms identified in Parameters 03 - 10 that also
have the same Campus code on SGBSTDN for the term as Parameter 13. If
Parameter 13 is null, use all terms entered in Parameters 03 - 10.
SCT Banner will report for each fund code the award type as setup on RFRSTCD.
The State Fund Code Form (RFRSTCD) allows users to populate their fund codes
and associated state codes. This form will then be referenced for each fund code
listed in the student's package; the corresponding state code will populate SF21. If
there is no corresponding state code setup on RFRSTCD, a warning message is
printed in the .log file. A separate record will exist in the RERCALXD.dat flat file for
each fund code for each term.
Note: For all forms of Work Study, report the matching funds in WU (unless the
program was directly matched with another program on the list.)
Assuming you report both the work-study wages and matched funds together in one
award under one fund code, SCT Banner will report this fund as WF assuming your
school sets up RFRSTCD with the same codes as in the Data Dictionary.
Therefore, the matched dollars will be included with the fund type of WF rather
than WU. If you choose to separate out the matched amount, you can then set up
this fund code on RFRSTCD with a state code of WU and it will be reported correctly.
