Section 4 Common Matching - Functional
How the New Matching Process Works
(GOAMTCH) and the Common Matching API used to determine if a matched
record exists at a later time.
When accessing GOAMTCH and the common Matching API from RCRSUSP, the
functionality to create a new record has been disabled. Therefore, during the review
process on RCRSUSP, if you determine a record is not matched, but ‘new’ you must
update the status on RCRSUSP and run the Financial Aid Data Load Part 3 process
to create the new record.
Matched Records
Records are matched with a status of “Match” if one, and only one, record matches
the rules that have been set up.
Common Matching Entry Form (GOAMTCH) called from SPAIDEN or from menu.
The new Common Matching Entry Form (GOAMTCH) appears with the Match tab
highlighted. The user must review the displayed data to see if the record is the same
as the one they are trying to enter.
(a)
(b)
If the record found on the database is the same as the one being entered,
the user can select the person and return to the calling form or menu, or
the user may update the address, telephone, e-mail and/or biographical
information for the record using the data entered, but Banner will not
assign a new PIDM. If updated, existing data will not be overwritten.
If the record found on the database is not the same as the one being
entered, the user can create a new person using the Create New button
on GOAMTCH. Banner will assign a new PIDM to the record.
Financial Aid Data Load Part 2 (RCPMTCH)
A record identified as matched by the Common Matching API is further processed
by RCPMTCH to determine the appropriate match status for Financial Aid Data
Load Part 3 processing.
M – Matched – Need Analysis record exists for aid year. Based on the rules
defined for the Common Matching Source Code, this record matches a record
on the production table database and has a Need Analysis record for the aid
year being processed.
A – Matched – Financial Aid record exists for aid year. Based on the rules defined
for the Common Matching Source Code, this record matches a record on the
production table database with a Financial Aid record (RORSTAT) for the
current year, but has no Need Analysis record (RCRAPP1) for the current year.
R - Matched – No Financial Aid record exists for aid year. Based on the rules
defined for the Common Matching Source Code, this record matches a record
