In case of fixed transmission rate, the ECO cannot be enabled, in order not to affect the set rate. During the test the instrument displays the state of the call and some information about the DATA packets: 170 transmitted (Tx) and received (Rx) packets total quantity of transmitted and received data expressed in bytes net throughput both in transmission and reception calculated either from the beginning of each call or from the last reset. The throughput calculation is affected both by the load of messages over the D channel of the tested access and by the value of the RxData with the ECO function enabled. In the latter case, apart from sending its packets, the instrument must also send the received packets to echo them. The Q, M and D bits can be manually modified at any time during connection. The M bit indicates that the packet is the prosecution of a previously transmitted packet. The bit D indicates that the transmitted packet is acknowledged by the network or by the remote DTE. The instrument indicates the disconnection cause of active calls.
