7. CONFIGURING THE INSTRUMENT<br />
This chapter <strong>de</strong>scribes the configuration procedure of the<br />
instrument according to the measurements to be ma<strong>de</strong>.<br />
Press in the main menu to activate the configuration page.<br />
The page contains general and specific configuration fields<br />
according to the operating mo<strong>de</strong>.<br />
The general fields are:<br />
Access: to select the type of interface used for the tests. The<br />
options available are:<br />
− BASIC (S), BRI (2 B channels at 64 Kbit/s + 1 D channel<br />
at a 16 Kbit/s)<br />
− BASIC (U), BRI (U interface). In this case the test are<br />
directly carried out on the U interface.<br />
− PRIMARY (E1), PRI (30 B channels at 64 Kbit/s + 1 d<br />
channel at 64 Kbit/s). To select the type of interface used<br />
for the test over the basic access, select first the BASIC<br />
option ( ) and then S/U ( ).<br />
