2. FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE<br />
The Aethra <strong>D1080</strong> measurement <strong>de</strong>vice is a first aid instrument<br />
<strong>de</strong>signed to give a quick and reliable diagnosis of the most<br />
frequent errors and failures that can occur during the installation<br />
and maintenance of user systems for <strong>ISDN</strong> Basic and Primary<br />
Access.<br />
! The firmware 2.00 and 3.00 add new functions to the<br />
instrument, which are indicated by the<br />
and symbol<br />
The instrument can be used as:<br />
passive monitor to analyze the physical level<br />
monitor for alarm conditions over Primary Access<br />
signaling protocol analyzer (LAPD and X.25) with::<br />
− capture and <strong>de</strong>coding of events and messages of level 1,<br />
2 and 3 of the <strong>ISDN</strong> LAPD protocol<br />
− <strong>de</strong>coding of X.25 messages<br />
− separate filters for capturing and viewing<br />
− filters on SAPI, TEI and/or messages of level 3<br />
− evolute statistics on call traffic, relevant B<br />
channels, and answering time<br />
