B. POSSIBLE VALUES OF THE “CAUSE” FIELD<br />

This chapter <strong>de</strong>scribes the possible values of the Cause field<br />

divi<strong>de</strong>d into “Classes”.<br />

Each class is ma<strong>de</strong> up of similar causes.<br />

reference purposes and should not be consi<strong>de</strong>red as<br />

official. For any dispute, see “ETSI 300 102-1 annex G”<br />

standard.<br />

B.1. “NORMAL” CLASS<br />

Cause #1 - “unallocated (unassigned) number”<br />

It indicates that the number requested by the calling user cannot<br />

be reached because it does not exist, although the format is valid.<br />

Cause #2 - “no route to specified transit<br />

network”<br />

The terminal has been requested to send the call through a<br />

specific transit network that is not acknowledged by the terminal.<br />

The transit network is not acknowledged either because it does<br />

not exist or because it does not support the terminal which is<br />

sending the cause.<br />

This cause is supported only by some networks.<br />
