Following are some examples of the instrument configuration.<br />

In case a) Fig. 7-12 the instrument is configured as <strong>ISDN</strong> BASIC<br />

TERMINAL for tests over the S BUS with 100 Ω termination<br />

impedance.<br />

In case b) Fig. 7-13 the instrument is configured as <strong>ISDN</strong> BASIC<br />

TERMINAL for tests over the U interface with 2B1Q line co<strong>de</strong>.<br />

In case c) Fig. 7-14 the instrument is configured to carry out tests<br />

over a PRIMARY user terminal (TE-TEST). In this mo<strong>de</strong> the<br />

instrument replaces the network functions, including the NT1<br />

functions.<br />

In case d) Fig. 7-15 the instrument is configured as MONITOR for<br />

BASIC (S) access in or<strong>de</strong>r to capture the level 1, 2 and 3<br />

messages (signaling) that transit on the D channel.<br />

In case e) Fig. 7-16 the instrument is configured as TEST LEVEL 1<br />

to carry out physical level tests over the S BUS.<br />
