ISDN ANALYZER D1080 USER’S MANUAL REV. 5 8.1. MONITOR OVER ISDN PRIMARY ACCESS If connected over a Primary Access, the following information are displayed: 64 frame and CRC4 synchronisms LOS, AIS, LFA and RAI alarms code, local CRC and remote CRC errors logical state of D channel presence of level 2 and 3 activity over D channel 8.1.1. Information about synchronisms The instrument gives specific information about the frame synchronisms and about the CRC4 (Code of Cyclic Redundancy) “word”, if the check is enabled. This information is given by the “PRA SYN” LED’s as indicated below. PRA SYN � FRAME� When on, the “FRAME” LED’s indicate that the frame synchronism has been reached. � CRC � When on, the “CRC” LED’s indicate that the CRC4 synchronism has been reached. 8.1.2. Alarm signaling The instrument checks the presence of alarm conditions due to different types of faults in the connection. CHAPTER 8. MONITORING THE PHYSICAL LEVEL

ALARM � LOS � (Loss Of Signal) - indicate the absence of impulses in reception, that is the absence of signal in line due to interruption, short circuit, unsuccessful transmission from the terminal, etc. � LFA � (Loss Frame Alignment) – indicate that the instrument has not found the frame synchronism yet. The FRAME LED is off. � AIS � (Alarm Indicator Signal) – indicate that the Network (or any suitable terminal) has sent an alarm signal due to various types of faults in the connection. � RAI � (Remote Alarm Indicator) – indicate that one of the two terminals is in alarm condition: 8.1.3. Error signaling − when on, the “TO TE” LED indicates that the remote terminal is in alarm condition − when on, the “TO NT” LED indicates that the local terminal is in alarm condition. The instrument checks the presence of error conditions in the connection. The errors are indicated by the ERROR LED’s, as indicated below. ERROR � CODE � Indicates the presence of errors in the transmission code � LOC CRC � Indicates that the instrument is detecting the data verification code coming from the other terminal in a different mode from the one transmitted.
