We willachieve this by:• Constructing, installing, repairing, and maintainingthe City’s streets, sidewalks, bridges, and drainagestructures• Installing and maintaining proper traffic control andstreet name signs• Devising creative options and innovative solutionsto the City Manager to address municipalinfrastructure issues in the most cost-effectivemanner• Providing technical assistance and advice to theCity Manager and Planning Commission on allengineering questions• Developing and maintaining an accurate mappingdatabase with a variety of information for the Cityand the public• Pursuing knowledge of the best availabletechnology and procedures relating to the field ofengineeringFY 03 Goals1. Design/construct the new sidewalk on Dean Roadbetween Annalue Drive and Glenn Avenue by July31,2003.2. In conjunction with ALDOT, complete the roadwidening of North Donahue Drive betweenMagnolia and Bragg by September 30, 2003.3. Upgrade drainage pipes at the Burton House onMagnolia Avenue by June 30, 2003.4. Begin the Pumphrey Avenue Pipe ReplacementProject near Shug Jordan Parkway by June 30,2003.5. Evaluate the structural integrity of the DuckSamford Stadium and the downtown parking deckby June 30, 2003.6. Install decorative streetlights on Tichenor Avenueby June 30, 2003.7. Complete the Phase II Storm Water permitting withthe Alabama Department of EnvironmentalManagement by March 10, 2003.8. Replace and repair twenty old-style inlets bySeptember 30, 2003.9. Remove sediment at specific locations in Moore’s MillCreek to improve water quality by September 30, 2003.10.
