Evaluate all aspects <strong>of</strong> <strong>Auburn</strong> PublicLibrary using A Plan for Excellence:Alabama Public Library Standards andmeet all requires standards bySeptember 30, 2003.2. Write one grant application for collectiondevelopment funds and one grantapplication for electronic servicesenhancements by March 31, 2003.3. Edit all on-line cataloging records to insureconformity with <strong>Auburn</strong> Public Library’sestablished format by September 30,2003.5. Develop a training manual for cataloging andprocessing non-print materials by September30, 2003.6. Provide a second photocopier for public useby September 30, 2003.7. Provide staff with in-service trainingopportunities and provide cross training forreference staff in basic cataloging bySeptember 30, 2003.8. Work with the Library Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees toconduct a review <strong>of</strong> library hours <strong>of</strong> operationby March 30, 2003.FY 04 Goals1. Apply to the Alabama Library Association forcertification <strong>of</strong> standards achievement byJanuary 15, 2004.2. Write one grant application for collectiondevelopment funds and one grant applicationfor electronic services enhancement byMarch 31, 2004.3. Inventory all library holdings by September 30,2004.4. Continue to improve the Youth Servicesdivision <strong>of</strong> the library by establishing a“homework help” program for studentsthrough the sixth grade that will provideinstruction on research and study skills as wellas Internet use by August 31, 2004.5. Improve services to local adult literacyprograms by creating a collection <strong>of</strong> highinterest/low-reading-levelbooks bySeptember 30, 2004.6. Replace obsolete integrated on-line libraryoperating system with more efficient systemby September 30, 2004.4. Purge patron files <strong>of</strong> all inactive records bySeptember 30, 2003.206
