MK4202(Q)-20DEVICE DESCRIPTION AND FEATURESThe MK4202 is designed to be connected DIRECT­LY to a high performance 32 bit microprocessor, allowingthe elimination of the logic delays associatedwith collecting HIT or Miss outputs into a subsequentgate or the RC delays associated with wired­OR open collector match outputs.The MK4202 TAG RAM has four major features thatallow direct connection:1. Wide enough for almost any TAGRAM applicationwithout requiring multiple chip width expansionand the delays that would result.2. Four (4) programmable CHIP ENABLE inputs,allowing DEPTH EXPANSION without any ofthe attendant chip enable decode delays thatwould otherwise be required.P O-P 3 should be tied directly to Vee or Vss, orthrough pull-up or pull-down resistors. TheMK4202 is selected when Eo-E3 equals P O-P 3in a binary match.(Example: Eo-El = 0110, P O-P 3 = 0110.)3. 3-STATE COMPARE OUTPUTS, allOWing allCompare outputs to be bused together so theAddress~to-Compare access time for a depthexpanded application is identical to that of asingle device. The Programmable Chip Enablesprevent bus contention by assuring thatonly one TAGRAM at a time drives each Comparebus when in Compare mode.4.
