B2PUBLIC INFORMATION AND COMPLAINTSB2.1 LIAISON OFFICERA Liaison Officer shall be provided by the Contractor to manage all public relations,information and press related matters, who shall liaise with the local authority,other statutory bodies, members of the public, press and the media on all mattersrelating to construction works. The contact details for the Liaison Officer will bemade publicly available in relevant scheme related publications and on the schemewebsite described below.B2.2 WEBSITEB2.2.1A website shall be provided and maintained for the clarification of constructionwhich shall provide up to date information on the progress of the works and thecurrent areas affected by construction. The website will also have provision forinterested parties to submit queries and feedback with regard to constructionworks.B2.3 NEWSLETTERB2.3.1A weekly newsletter shall be published detailing works to be undertaken in theforthcoming week, outlining with appropriate maps and diagrams, any alterationsto road traffic circulation required by the coming week’s works and any other issuesconsidered by the contractor or CRCL to be important. This newsletter will be freeand distributed by fax and email to local and national newspapers and other newsmedia, the local authorities, Police, the emergency services and to any other personsor organisations that have previously requested receipt of the newsletter. Interestedparties will be able to request to be signed up to the newsletter via the websitedescribed above. The telephone and fax numbers and the website address of ahotline shall be provided on the weekly newsletter.B2.4 COMPLAINTS HOTLINEB2.4.1A ‘Complaints Hotline’ shall be provided by the Contractor and maintained to dealwith any complaints received in connection with the construction of the railwayworks for the duration of the works. The hotline shall be answered by the LiaisonOfficer, a deputy or by another designated competent operator between the hoursof 0700 and one hour after construction is terminated for the day, on every daywhen construction work is being undertaken. Outside these hours an automatedcall recording service shall be provided. The telephone and fax numbers and thewebsite address of the hotline shall be provided through the press and the weeklynewsletter and be clearly displayed on hoardings around and in the vicinity ofevery worksite.
