Whilst guidance also exists in BS 6472, the advice in BS5228suggests that BS 6472 is not the best approach for assessing the disturbance effectstemporary construction work. Instead, BS 5228 suggests significance criteria interms of the PPV parameter. This parameter is proposed since it is routinelymeasured where potential building damage is a concern and empirical predictionsmethods are available in terms of the parameter.4.2.8 A summary of the relevant criteria for assessing the impact of vibration duringconstruction is provided below in Table 4.2.
