B11ARCHAEOLOGY AND CULTURAL HERITAGEB11.1 ARCHAEOLOGICAL DEPOSITSB11.1.1B11.1.2B11.1.3B11.1.4B11.1.5B11.1.6B11.1.7A general programme of archaeological evaluation will be prepared by anapproved archaeological consultant employed by CRCL, in consultation withOxfordshire County Council, prior to the start of works. The archaeologicalevaluation will take account of potential areas of archaeological interest identifiedin the ES and will apply to all areas of new land-take required for the Scheme,including any temporary facilities such as construction compounds, haul roads, soilstorage areas and diverted or new services.The evaluation will test for the presence of as yet unidentified archaeologicalreceptors through a programme of archaeological fieldwork.Any archaeological finds would be subject to mitigation by preservation in situ,where practicable, or by preservation through recording. An archaeologicalwatching brief will be carried out during groundworks in the construction phase ofthe project, in areas which have not previously undergone archaeologicalexcavation.The programmes of archaeological evaluation and mitigation will includeappropriate arrangements to conserve and examine finds and samples, and topublish the results in a form agreed with Oxfordshire County Council.
