The benefit of a Parkway station at Water Eaton to serve north Oxford andKidlington had been established in the earlier studies; consideration was alsogiven to an alternative Parkway stations at Peartree and west of Bicester (bothof these are discussed below). A single “Interchange” station at Bicester hadpreviously been suggested in the Chewrell District Local Plan, and this wasalso considered (discussed below).C1.3.2Station OptionsHaving established the principle form of the northern corridor route and thelocation at which stations were required / desired a detailed option selectionprocess was undertaken between January and May 2009 into station andcrossing configurations. This included the consideration of:design and engineering aspects (eg ease of passenger access; highwaynetwork impacts; car park capacity; bus, taxi and other rail connections;cycle and pedestrian route connections; ease of construction);impacts on rail operations;finance and economic (ie costs, revenues, other benefits);environmental impacts;land take and property; andtransport and planning policy.A working group was established and a variety of options and sub optionswere considered and compared in detail.Following this optioneering process a number of favoured options emergedwhich were published during a public consultation exercise in April 2009 andpresented at exhibitions in: Bicester - 17 April 2009; Oxford - 18 April 2009; and Kidlington - 25 April 2009.These options are summarised below, set out in detail in Table C1 andillustrated in the publicity leaflet which is attached at the end of this Annex.These outline the options and explain why the option that is presented in theTWAO Application was selected.The publicity leaflet also presented solutions for the Sheepwash ChannelSwing Bridge in Oxford and the Bicester connecting line. A <strong>Statement</strong> ofConsultation has been prepared which accompanies the TWAO Application.Oxford Station New PlatformsAdditional platforms would be required at Oxford Station as part of theScheme.
