F2APPROACHThe approach taken to information provided for the designated site baselineand identification of links between site sensitivities and development impactsis summarised below.1. A review of the available data on European sites in the area and asurrounding buffer, in order to obtain the following information: the locations of each European site (or SSSI), which are illustrated onFigure 8.1 (see Chapter 8 of the Environmental Statement (ES)) inrelation to the Scheme boundary; an understanding of the qualifying interest features of the Europeansites (and SSSIs) with a focus on the types of habitats and species thatthey are designated for; the key sensitivities of each habitat type / species; and the current condition status of the sites together with current knownthreats.2.
