Figure 92.10 AP9 – Oddington Footbridge No. 5A new footbridge is proposed west of Charlton-on-Otmoor. The new structure is to be asimple steel footbridge built to existing National Rail Standards. Due to the nature of theexisting public footpath, the structure will not be built to be DDA compliant, so will beminimal in its footprint. Figure 10 shows the location of works, and it can be seen thatthe site lies in Flood Zone 1 according to the EA Flood Map.14

This replacesthe existing level crossing on an unclassified road which is to be closed due to theincreased line speed on the railway. The structure will comprise reinforced earthabutments with wingwalls. Existing trackside drainage ditches at the edges of the railwayembankment will be locally diverted through circular precast concrete culvert sections.Figure 11 shows that the development site is entirely within Flood Zone 1 according tothe EA Flood Map.15
