B7DUST AND AIR POLLUTIONB7.1 DUST AND OTHER AIR POLLUTIONB7.1.1B7.1.2All necessary measures shall be taken to avoid creating a dust nuisance during bothconstruction and demolition works. Excavation and construction works shall notcommence until the necessary dust suppression measures have been put into place.Measures to prevent dust shall include the following practices:i. The provision of easily-cleaned hardstandings for vehicles.ii.iii.iv.The enclosure of material stockpiles at all times and damping down of dustymaterials using water sprays during dry weather.Fine and powdery materials shall be properly stored in enclosures orbuildings at all times.Keep stockpiles for the shortest possible time.v. Temporary covering, sealing (ie using polymer) or seeding of stockpiles andstripped areas, with permanent covering, sealing or seeding on long termstockpiles.vi.vii.viii.ix.Drilling and excavation surfaces to be wetted, where appropriate.Debris piles to be kept watered or sheeted as necessary.The hard surfacing of heavily-used areas which will be kept clean bybrushing and water spraying regularly.Control of cutting or grinding of materials on site.x.
