F4-3 RESULTSF4-3.1DESK STUDY AND CONSULTATIONHistorical records obtained from TVERC indicated populations of greatcrested newt at a small number of locations along the route. This included thefollowing locations:a record of unknown number at Woodsides Meadow Nature Reservemanaged by Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT), locatedapproximately 30 m to the northwest of the development boundary;records of a medium population within the industrial estate at CharbridgeWay dated 2003, located approximately 100 m to the northeast;a record of unknown number at the ‘Unipart Development Site’, dated1996, located 100 m to the southeast of the development boundary withinGavray Drive Meadows CWS.a record of unknown number within a paddock adjacent to Launton Brookto the east of Launton village dated 2004, located approximately 1 km tothe northeast of the development boundary;a record of unknown number within Upper Laurels Farm, Launton dated2004, located approximately 1.5 km to the northeast of the developmentboundary; anda single record at Lake St Outdoor Swimming Pool (which is in active use)in Oxford, located approximately 2 km to the southeast of thedevelopment boundary.F4-3.2F4-3.2.1HSIA SURVEY RESULTSWaterbody DescriptionA photograph of a number of the waterbodies representative of all thoseincluded within the HSIA surveys is given in Appendix 3.The majority of waterbodies included in the HSIA survey were ephemeral orpartly ephemeral field ponds associated with natural field depressions andhedgerow ponds.
