B4.4 ACCESS AND LOADINGB4.4.1B4.4.2Lorries shall enter and exit any work site onto the public highway or area used bythe public in a forward direction, except where space restrictions do not permit this.If the reversing of vehicles into public spaces is required, then the movement shallbe properly controlled by a responsible person observing the rear of the vehicle.The sounding of audible reversing alarms shall not be permitted outside normalworking hours, except where this has been approved by the local authority inconnection with works permitted under paragraph 3.1.3.All loading and unloading of vehicles shall take place off the public highway as faras is reasonably practicable.B4.5 SECURITYB4.5.1B4.5.2Adequate security shall be exercised by the Contractor to protect the public andprevent unauthorised entry to or exit from the site.
