B9.8.1B9.8.2B9.8.3B9.8.4B9.8.5B9.8.6Pre-construction checks will be made with regard to the presence of invasivespecies and appropriate action taken to prevent their spread.Detailed method statements will be developed for specific specialist works such aspiling and for additional activities where the potential exists for adverse impacts tooccur, such as ballast removal and replacement and invasive species treatment.Method statements for ballast removal will need to consider suitable mechanisms ofdust suppression together with dry and wet weather works restrictions.Any ballast which is to be reused shall be lifted and cleaned to remove pollutantsbefore being re-laid.Groundwater controls such as dewatering or physical cut-offs will be avoidedwhere possible and technological or process alternatives sought. Where dewateringis required, detailed method statements will be produced in consultation with theEnvironment Agency and Natural England, incorporating available EA guidanceincluding PPG20: Dewatering Underground Ducts and Chambers.No significant dewatering will be conducted in the vicinity of ecologically sensitivesites (namely Port Meadow with Wolvercote Common and Green SSSI and OxfordMeadows SAC). Specific method statements will be developed in consultation withthe Environment Agency and Natural England where works for the Scheme are tooccur within 500 m of these sites, or other distance as agreed with Natural England.B9.9 MITIGATION OF FLOOD RISKB9.9.1B9.9.2B9.9.3B9.9.4At detailed design stage, the temporary flood risk posed by the construction processwill be evaluated and appropriate mitigation measures integrated with the CoCP.Appropriate methods will be employed during the construction phase (prior to theinstallation of a fully operational drainage system) to mitigate against potentialflood risk.The location of construction compounds will be given further consideration duringdetailed design, to locate them outside Flood Zone 3b, unless essential, and, wherepracticable, outside Flood Zones 2 and 3a.In the event that construction compounds cannot be relocated outside Flood Zones2 and 3a, site specific measures will be agreed with the Local Authority inconsultation with the Environment Agency.
