Vatican Assassinsto Jesuit schemes and ambitions. A young Jesuit, named Leone, afavourite of the Rector at Chieri (who subsequently became General ofthe Order) took notes of the speeches and discussions at Chieri andthese were afterwards published <strong>by</strong> a French publisher. In 1848 theywere translated into English and published as a book entitled [The JesuitConspiracy:] The Secret Plan [of the Order] <strong>by</strong> Leone, which has beenthoroughly authenticated and can be read in the Library of the BritishMuseum. It makes enlightening reading and we will now reproducesome extracts as originally published <strong>by</strong> the late Augusta Cooke.A.
