Chapter 47 641Papal Knight Thomas “Tip” O’Neill behind JFK, 1959 #185Educated <strong>by</strong> Jesuits at Boston College and later an influential trustee alongwith Senator Edward Kennedy; a personal friend of its Jesuit President, J.Donald Monan; a close friend of fellow Congressman Jesuit Robert F.Drinan who introduced the resolution for the impeachment of PresidentNixon; and a golfing partner of Shriner Gerald Ford who suppressedevidence while on the Warren Commission; Irish Catholic Tip O’Neillbetrayed his old friend, John F. Kennedy. During the investigation of theAssassinations Committee (1976-1979), O’Neill did all he could to thwartits conclusion that there was indeed a conspiracy to kill the President. For ajob well done, he was made Speaker of the House in 1977 and from therecontrolled the nation’s legislation for ten years during which time he aidedhis fellow conspirator, Lee Iacocca, in obtaining a Congressional loan tosave the Order’s Chrysler Corporation. It is most interesting to note that inhis autobiography, he mentions that presidential aides Kenny O’Donnelland Dave Powers heard two shots from the picket fence on the grassy knoll,but never once speaks of the House Assassinations Committee or hisinvolvement with Robert Blakey who killed the investigation and went onto be employed <strong>by</strong> Theodore Hesburgh’s Notre Dame University.
