ASSEMBLY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS<br />

The fourteen Assemblies are the primary groups of the American Thoracic<br />

Society. Each Assembly holds an annual Membership Meeting at the<br />

International Conference. All Assembly members and other interested<br />

individuals are invited to attend.<br />

The Assembly Membership Meetings provide an update on the<br />

Assembly’s activities via the Assembly’s Leadership and provide<br />

Assembly members the chance to have input on future directions,<br />

information on how to get involved and networking opportunities. Voting<br />

results for the Assembly’s future leaders will also be announced.<br />

The Assembly Membership Meetings will be held on Monday, May 16,<br />

5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with the exception of the Assemblies on Behavioral<br />

Science and Health Services Research and Pediatrics (see below.)<br />

This public health poster forum will focus on innovative techniques, which<br />

are helping to meet the challenges of TB control, prevention, and<br />

elimination in the United States. Specific topics include: targeted TB<br />

testing and treatment of latent TB infection; conducting/expanding contact<br />

investigations; performing outbreak investigations; improving treatment<br />

adherence; addressing multi-drug-resistant TB; dealing with TB related to<br />

HIV/AIDS; providing TB education; and building TB-related coalitions.<br />

Target Audience:<br />

National, state and local TB program staff, public health professionals<br />

(nurses, physicians, epidemiologists), pulmonary specialists, infectious<br />

disease specialists, TB and HIV clinicians, epidemiologists, TB<br />

consultants, laboratory scientists, and microbiologists.<br />
