Target Audience<br />
Pulmonary and thoracic surgery fellows in training, allied health professionals,<br />
anesthesiologists and those interested in quality improvement and<br />
implementation of clinical programs.Clinicians interested in skills in basic<br />
bronchoscopy.<br />
Objectives<br />
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:<br />
• understand how to apply the techniques and principles of bronchoscopy,<br />
using both didactic teaching methods as well as hands-on training;<br />
• support the standardization and the practice of bronchoscopy.<br />
The bronchoscopy course and workshop addresses evidence-based<br />
bronchoscopy topics pertinent to core skills in an accredited pulmonary<br />
fellowship program. Techniques covered include various diagnostic skills with<br />
airway examination, biopsy of lung parenchyma and lymph nodes,as well as<br />
incorporating new technologies to apply to management of patients with chest<br />
and/or airway diseases.<br />
