Variables for Actions Only<br />

The following variables can only be used in the Node field of<br />

operator-initated actions, except for the variable which<br />

can be used in all fields.<br />

The variables , and<br />

must be entered with angle brackets.<br />

The variables must not be part of a string or be nested.<br />

$OPC_ENV(env variable)<br />

Returns the value of the environment variable for the<br />

user who has started OVO. This variable is only<br />

available for operator-initiated actions. It is resolved in<br />

the action call.<br />

Sample output:<br />

PATH, NLS_LANG, EDITOR, SHELL, HOME, TERM.<br />

For example, if SHELL is set to /usr/bin/ksh and you<br />

have set up the operator-initiated action echo<br />

$OPC_ENV(SHELL), the following command will be<br />

executed as operator initiated action:<br />

echo /usr/bin/ksh.<br />

Executes the application or action on the client where<br />

the Java-based GUI is currently running.<br />

This variable is resolved differently, depending on<br />

whether the GUI client is running on a UNIX-based<br />

system with DNS or on a PC using MS WINS<br />

(Windows Internet Name Service). If you are using<br />

WINS, returns the WINS<br />

hostname.<br />

<br />

Returns the name of the current OVO management<br />

server. This variable can be used in all fields related to<br />

actions.<br />
