Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

NOTE Any other customized settings on the management server, such as<br />

bbc.cb.ports:PORTS, should be adapted.<br />

Edit also the following files and replace any occurrence of the old<br />

hostname with the new one:<br />

/var/opt/OV/share/databases/openview/ovwdb/ovserver<br />

/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/ovspmd.auth<br />

/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/ovwdb.auth<br />

/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/ovw.auth<br />

/opt/oracle/product//network/admin/listener.ora<br />

/opt/oracle/product//network/admin/sqlnet.ora<br />

/opt/oracle/product//network/admin/tnsnames.ora<br />

/opt/oracle/product//network/admin/tnsnav.ora<br />

9. Reconfigure the OVO management server system with the<br />

new hostname or IP address.<br />

For details, see the <strong>HP</strong>-UX System Manager’s Guide.<br />

To change the host name permanently, run the special initialization<br />

script /sbin/set_parms.<br />

If you are moving from a non-name-server environment to a<br />

name-server environment, make sure the name server has the new<br />

hostname or IP address available.<br />

10. Restart the OVO management server system.<br />

To reconfigure the management server after changing its hostname<br />

or IP address, follow these steps:<br />

11. Stop the management server.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstop opc ovoacomm ovctrl<br />

12. Start the <strong>OpenView</strong> Topology Manager Daemon Service.<br />

Enter the following:<br />

/opt/OV/bin/ovstart ovtopmd<br />

13. Update the OVO management server registration.<br />
