Changing Hostnames and IP Addresses<br />

The command line utility will get the and<br />

as parameters. It must exit with exit status 0<br />

and pass the MAC address by printing the string<br />

MAC=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX to standard output. One example of<br />

such commandline utility is opcgetmacaddr.sh which can be<br />

found in the /opt/OV/contrib/OpC directory on the<br />

management server.<br />

For more information about opc_node_change.pl script use the<br />

-help option.<br />

-nnmtopofix<br />

use this option whenever you encounter problems with nodes<br />

changed their name or IP address. Note that this option has a<br />

high time and resource consumption.<br />

NOTE On DCE/NCS nodes only, and for hostname only changes on OVO<br />

managed nodes, force OVO to recreate templates in the database by<br />

removing chached templates from the last distribution:<br />

cd /etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/templates<br />

rm -rf ‘find . -type f‘<br />

2. Reload the operator GUI.<br />

NOTE Responsible operators running the Motif GUI might get an popup<br />

message for reloading their browsers.<br />

3. On DCE/NCS nodes only, and for hostname only changes on OVO<br />

managed nodes, redistribute templates to all managed nodes as<br />

follows:<br />

a. In one of the main windows, select<br />

Actions:Agents->Distribute<br />

b. In the Distribute OVO Software and Configuration window,<br />

select the component [Templates]<br />

c. Select [Force Update] and [Nodes in list requiring update].<br />
