Backing up Data on the Management Server<br />

About the ovrestore.ovpl Command<br />

The ovrestore.ovpl command restores a backup or parts of a backup<br />

created with ovbackup.ovpl.<br />

TIP Before running ovrestore.ovpl, make sure that /opt/OV/bin is<br />

included in your PATH.<br />

Before starting, ovrestore.ovpl verifies that no <strong>OpenView</strong> or<br />

integrated processes are running.<br />

This command accepts the following command-line options:<br />

ovrestore.ovpl [-operational] [-analytical] [-d \<br />

]<br />

-operational If selected, or if no option is selected, restores<br />

operational data.<br />

Run all of the restore scripts found in the directory;<br />

$OV_CONF/ovbackup/restore/operational/<br />

including ito_restore.sh and nnm_restore.ovpl.<br />

The ito_restore.sh script restores the Oracle<br />

database asking you to choose between the following<br />

restore options:<br />

To State of Last Backup<br />

Restore to the state of the last backup.<br />

To Most Recent State of Backup<br />

Restore to the most recent state of the backup. A<br />

roll forward is performed, based on the offline redo<br />

logs from the backup and the offline redo logs on<br />

the system.<br />

-analytical If selected, or if no option is selected, restore analytical<br />

data.<br />

Runs all of the restore scripts found in the directory:<br />

$OV_CONF/ovbackup/restore/analytical/<br />

Scripts include nnm_restore.ovpl.<br />
