To Install OVPA Manually<br />

<strong>HP</strong> <strong>OpenView</strong> Performance Agent<br />

Installing and De-installing OVPA<br />

To install OVPA on a managed node without using the management<br />

server, follow these steps:<br />

1. Make sure the selected temporary directory on the managed node<br />

contains the required disk space specified in the <strong>HP</strong> <strong>OpenView</strong><br />

Performance Agent Installation and Concepts Guide.<br />

2. Copy the appropriate package and installation files from the<br />

management server to a temporary directory of the managed node.<br />

See “OVPA Package and Installation Files” on page 229 for a list of<br />

files and directories for each platform.<br />

3. To install the files, enter the following command on the managed<br />

node:<br />

a. Go to the directory containing the package and installation files<br />

copied from the OVO management server.<br />

b. On Windows HTTPS managed nodes only, unzip the package file<br />

with the command:<br />

unzip ovpa_pkg.zip<br />

c. For both DCE and HTTPS managed nodes, start the installation<br />

with the command:<br />

ovpa_inst INSTALL<br />

OVPA Package and Installation Files<br />

Copy the OVPA package and installation files to the install/ovpa_inst<br />

subdirectories before starting the installation. Package and installation<br />

files are available for the following types of managed nodes:<br />

❏ HTTPS-based managed nodes<br />

See “HTTP Managed Nodes” on page 230.<br />

❏ DCE-based managed nodes<br />

See “DCE Managed Nodes” on page 231.<br />
